What is a Planned Gift?

A planned gift is a significant gift that you plan to give now or in the future to the CAEF. A planned gift is a thoughtful, well-planned, tax-wise gift that achieves both your philanthropic and estate planning objectives.

Examples of Planned Gifts include:

  • Naming the CAEF as a beneficiary in your will. That legacy may be a gift of a fixed sum or the gift of estate residue.
  • Naming the CAEF as a primary or secondary beneficiary of an annuity, RRSP or other financial instrument that makes up your estate.
  • Naming the CAEF as the recipient of your life insurance policy may permit you to arrange a substantial gift by making modest monthly or annual payments while living.
